Temporary Bridge

The late 1990s, city government officials realized the bridge was now becoming faulty and the bridge was in need of a complete over haul. A restoration plan was put in to place,  The  temporary bridge was construction in order to keep traffic moving across the bay while the Bridge was repaired and restored.  The project was completed in 2010.  The St Augustine Bridge of Lions will remain a historical symbol of the beautiful historic city.



As I said in my last post, this post includes photos from the renovation of the Bridge of Lions and the temporary bridge.   Which was built along side of the original bridge to keep the traffic flowing until the historic bridge received it’s new safer and polished look. While the construction took place the Lions were taken to a safe place to be spruced up.   After all the renovations; the temporary bridge was taken down piece by piece…
